Dual Recovery Anonymous
The Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition (MCC) supports Dual Recovery Anonymous meetings across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as part of our Dual Recovery Project. This project was established through a partnership with DRA founder, Tim Hamilton in 1994. It has fostered the MCC Dual Recovery Committee, a Massachusetts-based intergroup for DRA, promoting leadership, organizing community events, and strengthening local DRA meetings. This project is funded by the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP) and encourages Clubhouse supporters to assist in the development of the fellowship. As with all 12-Step programs, DRA is primarily peer run and draws from the experience, strength, and hope of it’s members.
What is DRA?
Dual Recovery Anonymous is a 12-Step self-help program for individuals who experience both an addiction and an emotional or psychiatric illness. Adults recovering from any addiction and any mental health challenge are welcome to attend. Massachusetts-DRA embraces all participants striving to achieve an improved sense of emotional wellness by using the 12 Steps. The local DRA community continues to grow with over 60 virtual and in-person meetings open to the public. Typically, Massachusetts-based DRA meetings are developed through the support of Clubhouses, Recovery Connection Centers, and other state funded programs. For more information on DRA and to learn about the content of the meetings, please review The Preamble of Dual Recovery Anonymous.
